91 colt, 4 speed manual....so my car isn't starting and I havent heard it run since i got it. I changed the ecu, checked for spark have that, put a new battery in so that works. I checked the fuel but i dont think im getting any. does any body know whats wrong? i think it might be the distributer cap but idk. Also is there any way to troubleshoot my car without taking it to the dealer or buying a multi-use tester that plugs into my car? |

Does your car have a check engine light on while it runs? |

There is a test connector for the fuel pump under the hood. Find it and apply 12v to see if the pump comes on. If it doesn't I would drop the tank and check the fuel pump. Was the car sitting before you picked it up? My first colt sat for 5+ years before I bought it and the gas tank and pump were rusty from sitting. Replaced the fuel pump and it ran perfect. Another quick way to see if it will run is to take the snorkel off and spray some starting fluid in the throttle body. |

MAF is located in the breather box, plug is on the top end of the round box where the air filter goes. |

okay so i worked on the colt today.....i have fuel, spark, and air but it still isnt starting. I think it might be my crank angle sensor but i dont know. Does anybody know if these can keep your car from starting? Help is appreciated. |
