If you have fuel firing in, spark going off, and obviously air coming in from piston movement (engine cranking), you could have fouled plugs.

The plugs are good the previous owner replaced them right before I bought the car.

It would not matter if they were good or not, if the engine flooded, the plugs will foul. That is the point we are trying to get across. How do you know the plugs are good now?

Ok guys I have an update........well unfortunally my engine is bad,I did a compression check after I timed it again and found out that I don't have any compression. The person I bought it from bought it from an older gentleman and he said that it needed a new timing belt, but didn't explain anything else that was wrong. So I find out that the belt slipped off when the car was running and bent the valves:( but lucky for me I'm buying back my first colt that I used as a parts car(after they took the front end off it) for close to nothing. by the way the motor is still good in it:). So hopefully I will be going to pick the car up tomorrow. Sorry for the novel just wanted to explain everything that's been going on.
