I have a 89 dodge colt auto hatch with a 8v 4g15, im running a ecu from a 12v 92 colt auto hatch, keeps throwing a o2 sensor code, I put a brand new o2 sensor in it during a major tune up and I know thats not the problem, im pretty sure the problem is that the 92 colt I pulled the ecu from had a four or three wire o2 sensor, and my 89 just has a one wire o2 sensor. Its still getting 37 miles to the gallon but not all csm ecus are fully compatible, theyll run the motor, but expect some codes thrown, im wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem

I am suprised it is working. From what I am told they are not the same voltage! But if its working I wouldn't complain! I would keep looking for the right one and get new cap's put in it because I fear the one your running will be short lived.

I have never had an issue interchanging ecus between 8v and 12v cars(I have owned 4 running 1.5 cars). Every car ecu I have ever seen runs on 12volts.

If it is a sohc 4g63 or 4g64 then most likely(no one has tried it yet that I know of). theoretically it will work, but you need to grab the maf and injectors though.

No, they are COMPLETELY differently at the ECU pinouts and connectors. I know because I brought an ECU to help a guy, and pulled his old one out and compared, NO GO.
The ECU in 93+ also converted to MAP sensor, no more Karmen Vortex battlestar galactica looking, intake MAF box.
