woah! 6 speed tranny! 8)

Some newer generation Lancer has a 6 spd tranny. But I can't remember any details exept that it may be only delivered in Asia. AFAIK, it was a turboed Lancer w/ some 190 HP, so the tranny won't blow up from your 136 HP.
Gotta take a look at that, I'm curious, too.

I believe I DID see a 6 speed tranny but i can't remember who made it... I think it was one of the companies that made the LSD's for the Talon...

The Evo 8 has a 6-speed gearbox in some markets. But it won't do you much good... The newer (5G+) Mirage and Lancer gearboxes are on the wrong side of the car (in fact the whole motor is turned around) so unless you want six reverse gears you can't use it. :P

SIX reverse gears! WOW! That's cool! Then I can park much faster than anyone else! :D

OTOH, why not swap in the EVO engine w/ EVO gearbox?

Yep, Evos are some of the fastest parking machines out there. As Jackie Chan once demonstrated:

This guy knows for sure how to drive! :D
I wanna do the same one day (but w/o the cops). :P

I don't know for sure if the EVO engine will fit the Colt GT/GTi.
I've read somewhere that the EVO I - III engines fit a Galant VR4.
I bet they changed the mounting schemes so the later EVO engines won't fit into our cars anymore. :(

if memory serves theres a company that specializes in rally trannys & made a 6-speed trans for the DSMs but sold for $15,000.00 (Trans only) & I think it was for AWD.

This was the 6 speed Lancer I was referring to:

''The Lancer Cedia is fitted with Mitsubishi's advanced GDI engine, with the power transferred to the wheels via the all new INVECS-III CVT transmission (1500cc model) or the INVECS-III Sport Mode 6-speed CVT (1800cc model). ''

http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/docs ... lancer.htm

I think INVECS is not exactly what you are searching for. But at least, it's a beginning.
Does anyone know what engine that Lancer has? Would the tranny bolt right up to a DSM/Mirage/Colt?
