I thinks it is either my ECU or distributor but am not sure. If I posted a pic of my ECU board can anyone tell me if it is bad or not? |

1. what is the problem you are having with your car? 2. where did you post the pic of your ecu? the only visual indications that you will get that your ecu is bad by looking at the circuit board is either: the electrolytic caps have leaked their electrolyte onto the board, which when it oxidizes, usually turns a brown colour. or: other components have failed spectacularly like semiconductors with holes and a nasty smell, but this does not appear to be that common. |

I haven't posted a pic yet but the problem I'm having is identical to the same problem I had less than a year ago when I had to replace my ECU and distributor. They were both remanufactured(Distributor:Autozone,ECU:AdvanceAutoParts) but we went through 3 ECU's before getting a good one. The distributor is out of warranty but the ECU is not so I'm hoping that's the problem. I was driving my car about a week ago and went to put it in 3rd gear and the car died,tried to restart but getting no spark. My tach died about an hour before the car so I don't know what that could mean. |
