(i thought this might belong in the general disc. bit, but it is 4g15 specific)

i went for a casual drive last night and got sick of my valves making too much noise so i stopped on the side of the road underneath a streetlight (as is done here in oz) to readjust the valve lash. this all went fine and only took about 10 mins, but when i started the engine i noticed that it was running badly, so i thought oh well, ill just take it home and sort it out there, where i have all my tools. when i tried to take off, the car was misfireing like h$ll and was barely running, so i thought wtf is wrong now.

got home and checked the cam timing, cos i thought that i must have slipped the t-belt when i turned it over by hand (i was too lazy to take the spark plugs out) but it was still fine (i replaced it and the tensioner about a week ago). so i checked compression, which was fine at 182-185-187-185 :D so then i (finally) thought to check the base timing, which was about 5* RETARD! need i say more...

so i know what all of you are thinking, the t-belt must have slipped, but it hadnt. all i can think of is that the dissy must have been loose, or else the rotor is loose. oh well at least it is running now.
