I found this on another website. anyone know what this means? cuz my transmission has this same symptom?

This sounds to me like you just have to adjust your throttle cable. Just tighten your throttle cable up and that should take care of it. At least that's what I got out of it. As far as the measurement, I don't know if that is a direct measurement or a deflection measurement.

just to add onto this TCM typically means traction control module....
we dont have one on these cars so.....

Just as ECM (Engine Control Module) can also mean Electronic Control Module. How about "trans computer?"

Well actually with most cars as far as I know TCM stands for...

Transmission Control Module - TCM. Controls the functions within automatic transmissions through various electrical and mechanical inputs. Same function as the ECU has with the engine.

...as found in our wonderful glossery of terms in the General Tech section. Most traction control units are very manufacturer specific and have their own funky names. Mitsubishi's is: M-ASTC - Mitsubishi Active Skid and Traction Control.

well, i guess you do learn something new everyday , my bad....

I'll second this one, too. BMW has ASC+T (Anti-Skid Control w/ Traction), DSC (Dynamic Stability Contol) and then a variant of that, Dynamic Traction Control or DTC.

Then Benzos and their DCX brethren have ESP (Electronic Stability Program), Lexus and Toyota has VSC (Vehicle Stability Control), Porsche has their own acronym which is escaping me, etc. and so on.
