Ok, don't critisize me for posting something noob-ish, I just want an estimate on something... If you're running the 1.8L eclipse bits on your 4g15 (MAF, injectors, TB, and ECU), along with a Short-ram intake, NGK platinum plugs, and 101 octane, what numbers do you think you would put down? Just curious, I want to have some reasonable number to put on my cardomain site. Thanks homies. |

id say somewheres around 84-87whp. what do you need 101 octane for? mine runs just fine on 87. |

oh wow! ok, use google to try and find what octane ratings are for and THEN ask about 100 or 113 octane gas. the higher the octane rating the more knock resistant it is, it's got NOTHING to do with speed (although if you put crap gas in your car and it starts knocking, your ecu will pull timing...) but that hp rating sounds about right assuming you have a manual instead of the lovely 3 speed auto  .

In case anyone was curious, I've had nothing but hassles (ping) with the 87 octane gasoline in my mildly tweaked 4g15 with stock timing. I only run 91 Octane in the little guy now and I have no issues whatsoever, almost like it was made for the little motor. I used to use Ultramar 87 octane because it was from a station not 400 ft from my front door, but I only run 91 octance from Petro-Canada now because I have heard that Ultramar has no additives in their gasoline. Now additives or not isn't going to change your experience a whole lot but if I don't hear my engine pinging at part throttle tip-in - including a near metallic blip when you initially juice the throttle, well you can see why I chose the better grade fuel. Funny noises equal trouble later on down the road, in my opinion. |

All I ever run in my vehicles is Petro Can as well. Have you ever tried there oil? It is deffinitly the best conventional oil out there. |
