This is awesome, keep it up! I'm doing all the suspension/brake upgrades on mine first before I pull the trigger on a swap.

I was hoping to just buy Hyundai Elantra rear disc setup brand new from Hyundai. But the bracket adapters are discontinued. I might just make my own.
The swap has been an interesting endeavor. It's very tight in the engine bay.
I just got my battery relocation kit. That goes next and then I can rejig the intercooler and intake piping.

Your Colt has options! Mine doesn't have the remote releases on the side or the seat adjustment yours has. Gee do you know of any extra interior parts like the vents and door grab handles? Mine is starting to fall apart.

I do know that the rear rotors and calipers are different as well. I bought a set of brackets years ago when they were available. So you have to use all of the elantra parts.

Engine removed and timing belt, pulleys, water pump all gaskets and seals changed. New harmonic damper and new timing belt covers.
BC 268/272 cams are in. Repiped all intercooler piping. Battery relocated to trunk.
Oil cooler mounted with new AN lines.
I think I addressed all the leaks. Now it's running rough . Time to investigate. It never ends with these cars.

Great work Charles!

That is one consistent but lopey type of idle.

Is this the hard idling you were speaking of?

My shimmed lifter 264/264 regrinds cams idled like that when cold, but my genuine HKS 264/272 cams really cleaned up the severe lope. Lots changed between the two setups but it runs way better once tuned/dialed in on LinkV3. Maybe some values are out of whack? You on Link or any version or Maft/MAF hack device?

I just saw this post looks like a clean swap man.

Don't quote me on this, but I think you can use "87 Galant rear disk brakes [vary much like what I'm planing on using on my "87 colt vista] seen here http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=40952

According to rock auto your turbo colts rear drums, are the same as my "87 vista...so it's vary likely that the wheel bearings are the same too, meaning you might be able to swap in rear discs if you order the rear caliper brackets from Mitsubishi
MB316082 left caliper bracket
MB316083 right caliper bracket
and then use "85-87 Mitsubishi Galant [with the 4 cylinder 2.4 motor] rear rotors, calipers, pads.

hope this helps.

I love the older 80's origami looking mitsu cars, keep at it man.

I dont like that idle. It smooths out once revving over 1000rpm.
I have to tinker with the TB. I am running v3, everything is stock except for cams now.
There is also a knock CEL, it comes and goes.

Thanks for the input on the brakes. I do have a 3g rear disc setup I bought from a member just before xmas 2016. I have yet to clean it all up and paint before installing.

I also tried using the 3G rear brackets on my vista [it's easy to check if they fit, just pull one of the rear drums, and backing plates off and check], but I recall the 4 bolt holes on the caliper bracket didn't quite match on the 3G csm brackets [I think the 4 holes were spaced closer together then the 3g bracket...or was it further out...one of those] so make sure you check if the brackets fit before you take the time cleaning them up, and if they don't, the part numbers I provided above should still be available from Mitsubishi dealers as a last resort, I think they were around $25-$30 each last I checked.
