I remember back in the day, I had a 90 or 91 talon, and I used mmcd on a palm (can't remember which model), I'd really like to do that again with my 89 DL wagon.
The problem is, I no longer have a computer with a serial port. I have access to machines with windows 7 and one with XP.
I have a Palm IIIX , a sync cradle, and a Palmconnect serial to usb converter. I have all the components I need to make a datalogger cable.
I can't get it to sync on any of the computers I have. So I can't install mmcd on my palm
I started looking into it and found that windows 7 doesn't "play well" with palms I also noticed that most threads with people who successfully got their palms to connect to windows xp machines used drivers that they got directly from palm, which are no longer available since palm sold out to HP.
So, if any of you are datalogging, what are you using?

I still run Palm logger on things just for diagnostics. You can use a USB to serial adapter and it will sync.

I'm guessing my problem is with the usb serial adapter. Its the actual palm one, I've been reading about people who couldn't get the actual palm usb serial adapter to work, but had good luck with one by belkin

There are new drivers to make Palm software work on win7. Just went through this to get my logger to work again. I can email you then when I get home if you pm your address.

Ok, got the keyspan you mentioned. Installed the latest drivers from their website. Seems to be installed correctly, says its ready for use.
Installed the palm drivers that Mecha sent me.

I have the latest palm desktop.
When I try to sync, nothing happens on the PC, the palm says its trying to connect, then says it can't.
nothing ever pops up in the device manager during the attempted sync.
bad sync cradle you think?

I had a problem on my configuration at one point, think it ended up being my selected port was Serial, but had to be USB (I had 3 to choose from).
