i think its a 9b turbo, its tiny and kinda useless.

As for bolt on turbos, no other mitsu turbo will fit, but i have briefly looked at the vw 1.8t turbo, its a three bolt style as well, it might be able to fit with minor mods.

If I'm not mistaken, thats the 3000GT/Stealth turbo as well. if you think about the 6g72tt as just two, 1.5litre banks, they could make upwards to about 350hp combined with the stock turbos. so who knows, you might be able to swing about 170hp out of it if its in good shape. I know theres a bigger comp. wheel that can fit the turbos for the 3/S to flow better but the housing needs to be machined. a friend of mine also has a 3kgtVR4 & he told me that there's someone offering some kind of adapter plate or somthing so that 14b from the DSMs can be used. check it out, I think its on their forums www.3si.org

the 3kgt VR-4 uses a T[b:8ffv1h94]D[/b:8ffv1h94]04-9b-6cm² turbo.
the g32 uses a T[b:8ffv1h94]C[/b:8ffv1h94]04-9b-5cm² turbo.
i doubt the bolts on the housings will match up.
where do i get the TC04? it's printed on the factory steering wheel on my 85 mirage turbo, and also stamped into the compressor side of the housing.

i'll try to get some pics taken after i get the car back from the shop-
it's getting "smogged" and also the water pump is being replaced. i'll snap a photo of the steering wheel too- my dsm roomate was convinced that the info on the wheel was wrong until he saw the stamping on the turbo housing.

The tc04 does not have water lines like the td04. I was under the impression that 84 was the only year with the tc04. I used to have a factory 85 colt repair manual (loaned out and never returned) and it showed the 85 having a water cooled turbo. Greg

don't know if this helps anyone but heres the thread on the 9b to 14b adapter plates: http://www.3si.org/portal/forums/showth ... pter+plate
our old site adm. is somewhere in there (John Moor) sporting his white Stealth. he even makes a mention of his old Mirage Turbo.

heres the company making the plates:
http://www.just-performance.com/
though from the amount of time its are taking, you'd think we're taking Federal Reserve plates here... 8)

my car has a salvage title, and is originally from IL, (i'm in CA, where the turbo was not originally sold) so who knows! the roof is vyinl, indicating the possibility that it was once 2 cars.... not much rust, though. compressor housing is stamped TC04, though, and the steering wheel has "turbo specs" imprinted on it (how 80's!) and claims a TC04. i'm at work, so hopefully pics soon.

My 84 colt turbo was originally sold in california. I wonder why they didn't sell the 85 there. 85 seems to be a very rare year for colt turbo's. Greg

i only got that from the owner's manual. there's a section on CA non-turbo emissions systems, federal emissions systems, and federal turbo emissions systems. seeing how they detailed the emissions controls on all these other engines, i'd think that if there was a turbo model sold in CA, there would be a CA turbo section in that part of the manual

Umm, maybe I'm just a bit late to this one, but what's the final word? Will any other turbo bolt up to the g32b? I hope so...I needs me a new turbo.
