Post subject:  Hello from Holland :)

Hi there,

As you can guess im new, i live in a small village in holland and recently became the proud owner of a Mitsubishi Colt GL.

Yes, you read that right, it is a Mitsubishi Colt, not a Mirage! Although it's the same car, the name is diffrent in Holland.

I bought this car from my gf granny, it has about 110K km on it (or 65 miles in special units :yawinkle: )
To be more specific about the model:
It's a 1.3 12v with carburettor, C51A... it has no rust, its from 1991 and this month im hoping to get it 4cm (1.5') lower with some new/better shock absorbers and springs :)

I knowthis is an introduction, but i have a question already, because im a man, and even afer two *** months of searching i still havent found the awnser to this question...

The 4g13 is going to make place for a 4g63 N/A. Because this car uses 10L/100km i think its better to have double the unicorns with the same fuel usage.

My plan is to get a 1991 to 1992.5 dsm and use all the parts from that car.
For my question:
Is it correct that the 1991/1992.5 dsm use the same diameter/spline count on there axles as the 1991 csm?

I know the 4G63 can use the 4G13 tranny, but i dont think itll be nice to ride 4500 rpm on the motorway. I dont like it now, and im not gonna like it with a 4g63!

I hope someone can help me! If not, ill post the question somewhere else!

Peace out!

Korneles

Welcome to 61t!

There are issues with using DSM axles in a CSM, they are a tiny bit too long and can cause binding when turning. It would be better to reuse the stock axles, they should fit into the DSM trans without problems but keep an eye on the seals, you may need to put some new ones in.

Thanks for the reply Mechacode!

In about 20 days im going for new shock absorbers, the month after that ill look a usable dsm, with all the info im reading upon the interwebs your reply has been the one i was looking for!

So, i can use the axles from the colt 1.3 on the gearbox on a NA 2.0 dsm (1991/1992.5)! This is gonna be great. I cant wait!
This car is almost rare in Holland. So with the 4g63 in it, itll be even harder for the guys at the meets to guess what car it is hahaha
