1989 Colt with a 1.5L SOHC or a 1.6 DOHC turbo motor currently installed?

sounds like car is more like a $100-$200 car if the engine is 1.5L sohc... unless the chassis and body is in PERFECT condition with no rust... $500 sounds like a lot for a non running econo 89 colt.

Depends on how bad you want to have a turbo CSM. I paid 750 awhile back for a real POS Colt that I ended up selling off for half that, I can say I was blinded by the need for CSM speed!

Junkyard will pay more than $100-$200 for it. I paid $350 for mine with a locked up engine and a few dents on the body and thought I got a steal. I would have paid $500 for mine though if they had been asking more.

If it were me I wouldn't bother repairing the 1.5 if that's what it has. Just get it and store it until you find a dsm parts car or a good deal on another engine. A lot of people on here including myself have torn into perfectly good running 1.5 cars to swap them.

It's an original turbo car that was for sale, for $500 it was a steal.
