As the title says, I'm new to the whole "DSM" life, although I have TONS of friends who are big time into it. I always attend the shootout every year to spectate, def one of my most looked forward to events of the year!

I just bought my first "DSM" and well it just so happened to be right after I purchased another car which I have a loan for. I ran into some $$$ trouble when my semi truck broke, so now I have to part this project car which was sadly like 95% ready to fire up after the build...but that's life sadly.

I'm going to be posting in the part out section in the classifieds so if you need anything, just head there and check it out!

Hahaha exactly!

Even running it'd probably be a very long shot from being worth that much, but I was also very STRONG on the OBO part.

It really does only need fuel lines/fitting and it's ready to fire up.

Thank you tho :p.

Lol, FP black turbo, FP many, black ops 1600cc injectors, wieso pistons, k1 rods, arp head studs, motor was taken to the bare bones sent out to another shop to be bore/hone, machine crank and clean it all, checked out A+.

ALL brand new parts, not a build from "junk yard" parts as you see so many do. Trans it apparently a Shep trans, since I have no proof i can't say it is but 1st 2nd 3rd have upgraded syncros, welded diff.,fresh rebuild never used before.

I think even the cheapest of the cheap would say I have more than $2500 worth.

Wasn't a serious offer.

You're best bet is to part it out. Or finish and try to sell running for 5.5 asking ha

It only happened in your imagination.

First posts by new users get put in limbo (a menu we mods/admins see), and have to be given the thumbs up before they become public.

I had a little chat after allowing the post to go through, just so our guy had a chance to compare his offering to cars of the past here, and at galantvr4.org.

You don't see the posting because it's likely best to introduce oneself first, fix the things that need fixing, and figure out what is to be done with the project from there.

I could be wrong though.

Well the build looks really nice, and welcome to the forum.

Ps. Sorry to hear about your hooha. My back gets itchy all the time, and I know how frustrating that can be.

Thanks, car has a lot of potential, it's still mostly all together, if my truck does some good runs without breaking, it may just live to see a full and long life!

Which is my goal, I'm actually going to list my Saturn Sky Redline for sale today and pray it's sold, I'd rather have the Colt as my project/main summer car, something where I HAVE to learn to work on and wrench (plus it's paid for in cash, no loan), as I don't know to much, specially about DSMs.

I recommend, getting a list going of everything you will need to purchase to get the yellow car on the road.

We can help you with that. Lots of knowledgeable "Mitsu heads" here.

I definitely suggest moving the car to the absolute top of your list of things to focus on, if you want it running by the spring/summer.

It will pass you by otherwise. I know this from experience.

Get the list going, figure out what funds are needed, and buy it all or most of it now. If it is not right in front of you,

then this is where it starts to slip away.

Also, I'm sure we all want to see standard camera sized photos of the build. -=wink wink=- We're only seeing thumbnails!

It's like going on a date with a woman that only does her toe nails up, and forgets about the rest! Haha.

Once you have the parts installed, you are only a trailer ride/tow away from a shop that can tune your car while driving or on a dyno.

Big curve to get into standalone, but the shop can help you survive and rebuild your tune, should it ever get lost/not backed up, where you otherwise

would be swimming with the sharks.

I haven't made the jump to standalone yet, but it's coming.

Want to sell that fp? I could use a fp and possibly manifold. The Red Summit build would appreciate it and the t28 turbo could be put to rest in someone else hands
