I picked up an 89 colt last week and absolutely love it, even though it no longer runs :[ I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake by buying it. I'm really hoping that you guys can help me figure it out PLEEEEAAAASE :]

Anyway, I'm in NW ohio, the car is an 89 "plymouth" colt DL 4wd wagon. 5 speed manual, 4g37. I instantly bonded with this car. If I can get the issues sorted out I want to do an 80's rally tribute and paint it with a Martini Racing color scheme like they used on the old Lancias.

There are so many "interesting" things about this car. The books say the obd1 port is on the side of the fuse block, or behind the glove box. Mine is right behind the ECU. The books say the ECU is under the passenger side kick panel, mine is behind the stereo. And its SO weird to not see any relays under the hood.

I want to set up a palm for data logging but that's a whole different nightmare. I've tried windows 7 and xp, lots of different drivers, I think I might have a bad sync cradle.

Welcome to 61t! Be sure to check out the 1st-2nd gen section (http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=16). What you've got here is actually a 2nd gen, there's an odd overlap of the years (some 3rd gens were made in '88 and some 2nd gens were still made in '89) and what you're describing sounds like 3rd gen info.
