Hey there! I'm Connor and I just picked up a 90 colt hatch 1.5 M/T this last weekend. I bought it because it ran and drove and it has A/C. Body is very clean for a 200k car and it has good leather seats! lol. Unfortunately it didn't make it home on its own power. The IAC is broken and it dies when it tries to idle if you have the A/C on. Long story short - it died when I got off the highway on the way home, restarted it and the fuel pump started whining like crazy (no idea why) and it bucked and died, wouldn't start again until cold. Now it runs about 30 seconds, pump starts whining and it dies. Fun stuff. Ideas?

But on the bright side, I'm coming over from the DSM world because I eventually want this to be a swap car! The plan was to drive the colt as a daily until my 90 Talon AWD is sold, then use the money from that to rebuild my spare 4g63t motor and drop it in with the FWD turbo DSM trans I have at home. I will be cruising these forums regularly for info from now on, but I have a lot of learning to do before I can be helpful around here as I have zero knowledge of CSM's. I ordered the factory service manuals on ebay yesterday to get me started. I'm ready for a fun, interesting new challenge and I'm glad this forum is here.

Connor

Welcome to the forum! I hate to break this to you, but that's not leather, it's vinyl.

LOL, pleather, whatever. I didn't even think about that. Fail. I like it more than the cloth though. I have seen that DSM front seats should fit, and if they do that is what it will get. I have three sets sitting around the house from DSM hoarding

No idea what the fuel filter looks like yet, but I will check it out. Haven't had a chance to thoroughly investigate the car. I'm also trying to finish my Talon, which is getting its transmission removed for the fourth time since I bought the car and I've only driven it 50 miles....

LOL about the vinyl, forgot it was "pleather" and didn't even think about it. Front seats have covers on them anyway. Fail on my part. I'm likely to swap in some DSM seats because I hear they fit and I have three sets sitting in the garage from DSM hoarding

Is there any particular reason why all of my posts have to be approved before they will show up? I've searched the FAQ, and my permissions status says I can reply and modify my posts in this area...

It shouldn't be doing that. I'm not sure what the deal is. You should be able to post anywhere.

Welcome to the great world of CSM madness! A ton of info is available on this board, so let the search feature be your best friend. If you can't find the answer you're looking for, don't be afraid to post a new thread.
The DSM seats are not a bolt in affair (ask me how i know :-? ). You'll have to fabricate different sliders or modify the DSM ones to work.

I figured it would take some work to make the seats fit. What kind of modifications to the sliders? Is it so difficult it makes it not worth the effort?

The dsm seat bolt pattern doesn't line up with the csm sliders nor does the dsm slider bolt pattern match the csm floor pan. If you have a welder, some flat stock or square tubing and a day or two to kill, it can be done.
