I hope you were able to get more more than 92 HP, as that was factory HP for a 12V 4g15 over here.

Thanks for translating to a crossover graph at 5250 rpm.

Cheers!

I'm confused now. The stock engine is rated at 66 kW which is 90 DIN-PS in Germany/Europe. Why is it higher in the US? Is there a difference in measuring SAE-HP and DIN-PS? Like rating engine power without mufflers, cat converter and alternator?

66kw in the google converter = ~90 HP, so that is about as close as we will get. 92 HP was the listed power for the car, at the crank as it would always be listed.

I know the Proton 315/415, which is just a copy of the 1.5 4G CSM is rated at 92 PS. I was always assuming the difference was due to it running speed density rather than the restrictive 3G MAF setup.

Could be, but we had the 92 HP rating for all 12V cars in North America. Unsure if this was ever dyno tested with the engine on an engine brake. That would be money not well spent, but it would have proved the factory to be correct or incorrect. I'm sure they would be correct in their power rating as when you compare to higher horsepower cars in the category of bordering on being "too powerful for road use" standards, sometimes they "under value" the HP ratings. Common practice in the early days of muscle cars, but not so much now.

Horse power, how complicated can it be. The Hyundai Pony aka Excel X-2, 4G15 8V, with the Mitsubishi injection is rated at 84 PS. The same car but with the Bosch injection is rated at 86 PS. Early 3G CSMs with the 8V 4G15 are rated 84 PS as well but do have a knock sensor here in Germany. The Pony/Excel doesn't have a knock sensor. It's 2 PS/HP difference yet again.
I reckon the difference is likely emissions related.

For the record, all Hyundai Pony aka Excel with the Bosch injection I've seen so far do have an EGR valve and 86 PS. As the EGR does nothing for maximum power the difference must be something else. I recon they might have advanced timing to exploit the EGR's possible mid range torque gains, yielding more HP/PS overall.
