My dome light occasionally flickered when I hit the brakes hard, now it does it even when going over moderate bumps. I turned the lights to the off position, but I still see the "Door ajar" light flickering on.

Just now that door ajar light stayed on even after I shut and locked my car door.
Does anyone know the cause, and.more importantly how can I fix this?

It's a 94 summit wagon BTW

sometimes dirt gets behind the rubber piece and will cause it to stick.. I in the past have just lifted the rubber a small bit and sprayed wd40 in there.. then pushed it a few times and it works fine again... make sure to do both sides tho.

Which rubber piece?
That sounds easy enough. I'll attempt it in the morning.

the rubber that covers the switch.. its near the bottom part of the door area (but on the inside piece).. while sitting in the driver seat.. open the door.. swing your legs out but dont get out of the van.. it will be near your left calf/ankle. sometimes the rubber part falls off and gets lost..

You can also pop the rubber cap off and one screw holds it on. Just in case it ends up being a dirty connection or something similar. If you unplug it, be careful. There's not much wire there and it will fly back into the car. Then you'll have to remove some interior to get to the backside of it.
