So, I just picked up an ECU from the wreckers as an extra just in case. My current cars are 92 and a 93 Vista's and the ECU I picked up is from a 94.
I didn't even think about it but when I got home I realized that the 94 ECU is EEPROM. What kind of benefits can I gain by socketing the ECU? (i.e. Would it be worth it?)

Sorry I can't answer your question about your new eprom but have you checked to see if there are any differences between the 92 and the 93+? The reason I ask is because the 92 has an 8v 6 bolt engine which is different from the later models. If they are indeed different you'd need a spare for your 92 as well.

Well, I'll do some more digging but I also have a 93 and I know the 94 ECU will interchange into that.
