while that diff is strong the setup will steel some HP. seems like complete overkill idea to me. and the axles would need to be custom. not to mention the whole mounting of it. axles would cost 600-700 form driveshaft shop. so any savings from the rear end go right out the window. brakes would be too big as well. idea. buy the 300 rear and sell the pumpkin on ebay for 650.

so im bringing this one back also lol.. any updates on this thread??

what are the hp ratings for the stock diff and axles? after looking over a bunch of threads.. and taking my mustache bar off today i noticed the diff just drops.. not sure what is holding the front but as u stated if thats the hp stealing issue would 1 be able to fab a better mounting system for the front of the diff?..

that is if the stock diff (with fresh oil) can take the power i might just leave it as is.

not comment on axle strength. certainly strong enough for 400whp which will likely be a stopping point for me.

I have parts here to do evo 3 axles and LSD rear. downside for me is servicing an axle will become a pain. rear pumpkin has to be dropped to get axles out. i personally hate doing things to my cars that makes them harder to service. so i did find the part numbers for the factory RVR inner stubs. they are about 275 shipped. this would ultimately be the best solution for me. would work with dsm lsd and stock current axles that are a breeze to get in and out.

Stock van rear end is basically what we call 3 bolt axle DSM rear end. Surprisingly, I haven't broken my yet! And I have raced my van a LOT!

There are two problems with just buying RVR cups (and installing 4 bolt LSD DSM rear end into van rear end casing):

1. the flange on the axle will not match van flange (RVR is larger), so you would have to adapt them
2. You still have remainder of the weak axles.

So you will need complete RVR rear axles to really make it worth your trouble and shipping those will not be cheap!

I was thinking of buying EVO8/9 rear end/axles and making that work, but those are NOT CHEAP! But, I love the fact that they rebuildable and you can make them "tighter"!
