Friend of mine got hooked on the summit mini van ever since I brought my AWD A/T home. he wanted an AWD 5spd but after searching for three months he got impatient. he pulled the trigger on FWD 5spd summit. I drove the car yesterday and was a pleasant surprise. in stock form just way more fun to drive than my a/t version. my car is just dead slow in comparison. I know the tables will turn when the power arrives. but for anyone looking for one I always tell people up to about 350whp FWD vehicles can be more fun than AWD.

You're right, they're no rocket ships but plenty fun to drive stock with a manual. I still miss my last one. Any pics or plans for his?

Engine swap or just slap a turbo on the 4G64? Same color combo as my old wagon.

most likely get the 2.0 swap. the 2.4 has 190k on it and it smokes a little. bores may not be good for drop ins. but it could be guides leaking. so not sure yet.

chopped one coil from each spring. lowers it about 1.25 inches. rides quite well. nice mod on the cheap.

Very nice, now she needs some GVR4 wheels or something around that size.

frank dropped by the other day to tweak. his car had 201k on it when he got it. he swapped to a speedo with 151k cause it had the tach. it now reads 156k! just three weeks later. WTF

Wow, that is crazy. Also its pretty easy to take the cluster apart to swap in the correct odometer. Well it wouldn't be correct now, but you know what I mean.

Also you guys would get a kick out of that Jackie Chan movie, I need to look to see which one it is. Anyway in one of the scenes they're in a plant where the expos are built. There's like a hundred of them in a room ready to be shipped. All fresh and brand spanking new.

recent movie "lets be cops" has a red one in it. made the movie extra funny everytime there was a shot of it.

frank wanted the speedo to read lower. I told him to leave the original in and be proud of the high miles. came across one for sale last week with 350k on it.

My burgundy '94(similar to your buds but with auto) lasted to almost 400,000 km's before the trans gave up again. No one seemed to be able to build them right, it had been r&r'd several times :(
but I loved that thing, the 16 valve engine was noticably quicker that my '02 8 valve; it could always spin tires from a stop :), seats were uber comfortable, and it just made a great dd. Basically with regular oil changes and 2 timing belt replacements it was maintenance free.!
