I am hoping to put a small 13g on my now running 93 Summit 2.4. I would like to keep the motor looking stock, including the SOHC head (The motor has great compression). With that being said, has any one here done this? Two issues concern me:

1. Oil supply for the turbo. Not sure if there is a feed I can grab from the head or not, or of there is one available form the OFH. Not concerned about coolant, I will run it without coolant until I decide it is ready for the track.

2. What plugs to run? I am researching now, but I do know that these plugs are smaller than normal DSM plugs, so I want to make sure I get something similar in the skinnier package this motor requires.

When I looked into this I used the info available for the 2g eclipse spyder. They share the same engine but it uses a coil pack instead of a distributor. I believe the easiest way would be to convert to DIS ignition and use a 2g dsm turbo ecu. This way there is no tuning and everything just bolts on. I'd also look for a bigger turbo, at least a 14b or small 16g.

I'm sure you could leave it as is and tune with a SAFC or something, just not sure how reliable that is. No real way to control knock or timing.

That is kinda my thinking also. But, not sure what all I would need to change to go the coil-pack route as that would also require a CAS (crank or cam). Maybe I will just run the 2.4 until I am ready to drop in the 4g63. I have a complete '95 turbo wiring harness I can install, and have a lead on a 2g ECU.

As for the 14b or 16g, that would be nice, but I only have 13g's lying around. I suppose I could downgrade the colt a little in the turbo department and swap. Not looking to spend bucks on a turbo until I order the RVR Turbo tranny and slap-shift this thing. Not sure how long the w4a32 in this will last under boost. I know it would hold up much better with the slap-shift/forced four mod so I am kinda torn if I should just run the tranny till it pops.

Actually the cam and cas from the 99-03 Galant swaps right over to the older 4g64's and they are super easy to find in the junkyards, at least around here they are everywhere. The 3 ecu plugs on the wagons plug right into a 2g dsm ecu, you just have to wire up the 4th one and swap a few pins around. I know what you're saying about trying to use what you have around. I'm sure the 13g would be an improvement and its something you could always upgrade in the future.

There are some decent write-ups on the galant center, since you have the same engine as the 94-98 Galants its a good place to source info as well.

What forum is that? I see there are 7 @ 99-03 galants at one of our local PAP's, a couple must have the 2.4L. I still have a distributor form a 95 2.4l to return, so the CAS would be FREE!!

It's called the galant center. net I believe. You'll need the cam too, although I'm sure you can tap your old one. That would be easier unless you plan to do a t-belt job too. I actually have everything to do the t-belt on one of those engines if you're interested. I bought all of the stuff from Rockauto when I 1st got my wagon and never took the time to do it. I forgot about it when I sold it and found it a few months ago. Shoot me a pm if you need the parts. I actually have a 99-03 Galant cam and cas too. I was hoarding parts for mine for a while.
