I just bought a 1988 Dodge Colt Vista. I don't know much about these cars so I thought I would join a forum and try to learn some new things. I'll keep this updated as a build thread and will post some pictures soon. Currently it doesn't run, it's not getting any spark. It has a new distributor and a new coil. If anyone could give me some other ideas on what it could be, it would be much appreciated. |

it is fuel injected right? did you test the ignition control module located on the intake next to the distributor it has a three wire connector and is bolted to a metal bracket that is bolted to the intake. if you haven't already, check the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor. check the wire harness and connectors on the coil, distributor, and the ignition control module. inspect the timing belt, crank pulley etc. [make sure it all lines up right] the black box e.c.u located under the drivers seat could be leaking capacitors. after you check all this let us know It most likely is one of these things. |

Yup, it is fuel injected. I'm going to test the ignition control module today. If it's not that, I'll keep going down the list. Thank you for the help! |

Well, the car is now running! I ended up replacing the ignition control module. One of the pins broke inside the connector. I still have a few little things to do to get it on the road. Will update when possible! |
