Been driving this thing for a month and I almost have all of the little bugs worked out. We got out there yesterday and cleaned up the interior really good since it had been sitting for a year or so. I was also tired of looking the the automatic transmission gear lights in the cluster so we stopped by Signs Now and they gave us a piece of satin black sticker material.

Image

I removed the cluster and the guage.

Image

Cut a small piece out and actually got it on there straight on the first try.

Image

Trimmed away the excess with a razor blade.

Image

All back together.

Shot with my 3g eclipse GT leather steering wheel (which was a bolt on deal), GVR4 boot and Lancer weighted shift knob.

I have been searching for some alloy wheels lately and haven't really found anything that I liked. Basically just wanted to get rid of the hubcaps and go a little bigger so that I could run the 276mm rotors and twin piston calipers. So I was browsing Craigslist today and found a guy parting an 03 Lancer LS and he still had the wheels. At first he didn't want to sell them because he wanted to be able to tow the car away and scrap it later but I agreed to give him my old 14" steelies. He said fine, give me your wheels and $80 and they are yours so I hurried down there to pick them up. I am very happy with the way they look, to me they look like they belong on there. I'll get them cleaned up and snap a few pics tomorrow Lord willing.

Here are some pics of the wheels. The tires are decent but they are too short in my opinion. Craigslist to the rescue again  . I found a like new set of Fuzion 205-65-15's on the cheap. He wanted $100 for them but one of them has some camber wear on the inner edge so I offered him $85. Can't wait to get them all installed and cleaned up.

Been working on the wagon a little here and there lately. Fixed all the little dings and curb marks on the wheels and resprayed them. My buddy that I help at the bodyshop had some silver paint sitting around and I had some clear. Picked up a new set of lugnuts for $12 from Big Lots LOL. I also cleaned up the mud flaps and hit them with some Diplicolor satin trim paint and bolted them on.

We got out there on Sunday after church and degreased/pressure washed the filthy engine bay. Shot some WD40 on all of the plastic/rubber parts and put on the fresh heatshield that we sanded and repainted with some high heat silver. We still need to take off some of the small metal brackets under the hood and paint them and replace a few crusty looking bolts but over all it looks good IMO.

Wow, it is amazing what an afternoon of crazy hard work can do for the look of the engine bay. If you ever sell, that should get you some serious curb appeal factor going.

Thanks guys! I still need to detail some things under the hood but the pressure washer does take care of most of it for sure. Next on the list is opening up the exhaust a little and getting rid of the huge oem muffler. I also have a trailer hitch that I want to modify to fit for my junkyard runs :P . I would also like to relocate the spare as well since its right in the way.

your car is 4x114 correct? did the Lancer only use this lug pattern from 2002-04?

also, what are you sourcing your calipers/rotors from?

What size is the factory exhaust size? 2"? Go 1/8" larger if staying NA, my recommendation.
