215/50r17 so stoked how she looks with the rims on there, the offset is just perfect. any wider and it would rub for sure. If/when i lower it it will probably rub in fact. I have been thinking about adjustable suspension for this puppy. Then i could run i slammed for summer and normal height for winter. Would be okay. But i dont want a harsh suspension. And i would have to think all the aftermarket springs would be stiffer than stock.

I ordered up a 16g from FP yesterday. For 520 bucks new no point messing around with junky tired old 14bs.

Ran a 14.59 at 94 mph. 1.9x 60 around 15 psi out of the laggiest 14b ive ever seen. I would bet a good condition 14b would've made a high 13 easy, just the missed time between shifts, I suspect i lost 2 tenths at least every gearshift just to lag. I'm not disappointed at all to have the slowest passes i've ever made at the strip. I cant wait to get the 16g on this thing and take it back out there.

Lag on a 14b? Boost leak test?

or the diaphram is jammed open or the arm is bent a bit and the flapper is not closing all the way...seen that b4

but yes, could be a bad boost leak too.

Good job on getting her to the track!! Decent launch!! now just have to get a bit better top end. Was she getting any knock? did u datalog it?

NICE! That time and trap is what my 2,500lb sedan mustered with a Sleeper 16g at 9lbs on a 4g61. I am impressed that 3,100lb van got it done so well.

I 100 percent guarantee the wastegate is not sealing. I tested for leaks just the other day, its tight as a drum. I have two 14bs that are both like that, the port for the wastegate is so ccracked and fruit and banana it cant seal anymore. I also have a 14b that boosted ok but its so cracked i dont want to go to the trouble of installing it. I have a really minty one on my sedan and it has no lag whatsoever. This 14b has three times the lag of my 20g, seriously.

Battery went dead on my palmpilot like a year ago and mmcd got wiped havent been able to get the mmcd back on there with the computers i have. Not sure whats wrong but it wont hotsync. so no it hasnt been logged. I am sure there was knock. I am running br7es plugs 94 octane stock timing.

I have a story to tell with a very funny outcome (not for me)
I was right about the the old 14b, its wastegate area was so cracked it was open all the time.
Got my new 16g installed, took it out for a rip. Didnt sound right. Then it locked up. First thing i did was take off the intake pipe. Carnage. Compressor wheel is destroyed. 600 bucks down the tubes. Time to order up another one. I should have checked the intake pipe before i reinstalled it. The rubber spacer from the turbo was in there when i put it back on. The turbo sucked it in, and boom. Dunzo.

I will email fp for a rebuild price, but im sure it will be cheaper to buy a new one.

The same rubber spacer was sucked into the inlet of one of my 14bs but I got lucky, no damage to the turbo, just terrible performance.

i have seen many 14's die from that rubber spacer ring.. over time it degrades and starts falling apart... under power when the turbo is spoolin and a little piece of rubber comes flying into the compresser blades... NOT GOOD RESULT lol.

Well im sure glad micah and dan did not listen to me. I told them the stock tach doesnt work. They said it did and i have never been happy with the dsm tach in the cluster, just cause it doesnt look quite right. Thanks to them i dug through my hoarding and found my stock van tach, hotwired it up so i would be able to watch that and the dsm tach at the same time. Nothing happened this time. Then i turned the little knob on the circuit board (potentiometer i think its called). The tach works great now. I dont know why i didnt mess with the knob before. oops.

Now if only i could figure out my cold start issue i could say my van was dialed.
