14b is a solid, mid 12 second turbo on an AWD car. Upgrading it before you are actually running mid 12's will not give you any benefit, but you will feel the extra lag of a larger turbo.

I kept seeing people going to large turbos, way before they actually needed to do it! So I decided to show people that going fast is not about having a big trurbo, but rather tuning and driving ;). That is when I set my first 14b record (12.01 as I recall, back in '00 or '01).

But you are right, 14b is a fun turbo!!!

Yeah i learned that from a local guy. Total newbie to dsms and he kinda makes me look stupid. All he has is a fmic, exhaust boost controller and dsmlink and he ran real low 13's on a full weight 1g. Only reason i run the 20g on the van is because i had it, and i got an awesome deal on it way back. It runs a dnp tubular and 38mm tial wg. Its easier to just use this than to deal with boost creep on a 14b.

I ran 123 mph in my 2500 lb awd colt with the 20g. Now my goal is to run 120 mph with the 16g. Im done playing with the van for now. But if i break the colt i will likely toss the ecmlink from that into the van and see how it does at the 1/4.

Right now it looks like it will just run the same low 14s it did last year. Not much point going to the track until it gtechs in the 13s
