Assuming the pump is in the tank, it sounds like a issue between the pump and filter. If the pickup in the tank was small (pipe size) and as you added fuel there has to be a point where the pipe size can't support the pressure/volume and from there you would loose pressure. Did this start as you increased P/W on the injectors? You changed everything but the 1st part of the fuel set up so I would think the issue has to be there.
Well, I am on a 3rd pump, so I am pretty sure that pump is OK
. I have logged voltage and there isn't a significant drop.
This started as I moved up to FP Green turbo. Before, as I was running 14b and 16g turbos, the problem was masked everything seemed OK (running older Walrbo 255HP with stock wire). But with FP green, I had to richen the things up, but it wasn't responding as much as it should have. So I started logging the fuel pressure and discovered fuel pressure drop. I am running in high 90's injector duty cycle with 1000cc injectors. That isn't right at just 25psi of boost. But dropping fuel pressure exlpains the high duty cycle.
I have measured EVERY fuel line between the fuel pump and the fuel rail and EVERYTHING is identical to 2G OEM line! But… at this point, I will have to upgrade the factory “fuel tank to fuel filter line” because I am running out of things to change…
Does anyone have an extra AWD Summit fuel pump housing? I am thinking of making a bulkhead version of it and tapping right to it. I am kicking myself now, for throwing out the old one with the parts car I had years ago
.
